A mountain this steep is no longer a single place or dimension. North-facing slopes hold mist longer. South-facing terraces catch more light. The soil shifts within a few hundred metres of walking. Wind moves differently through a ridge than through a hollow.
Over six generations, the family has learned to read these differences the way a vintner reads a vineyard. Each tea is planted where the mountain tells us it belongs. The 1947 trees root into the highest, most exposed rock. The 1985 plantings sit where mist gathers longest. The 2000 cultivars follow the slope where afternoon light softens and the soil holds warmth.
