Landscape Vase I - Wild Clay
Landscape Vase Series - by Muzuri Ware
A vessel for branches, shaped by the landscape.
The form rises from a broad, rounded body into a tall, slender neck, creating a strong contrast between its grounded base and delicate opening. Its generous lower volume gives the vase a quiet weight, while the narrow neck gathers the arrangement upwards.
Built by hand, the surface carries subtle impressions and irregularities left by the artist during its making. Rather than being smoothed away, these marks remain within the clay, giving the vessel an uneven, tactile character.
Across its larger surface, the layered glaze becomes almost geological. Dark earthy tones move through patches of beige and muted mossy green, with areas of roughness and smoothness appearing alongside one another. At this scale, the surface begins to read like a fragment of Yanwu Peak landscape, weathered bark, lichen and moss gathered across stone.
Made from wild clay, hand-harvested by Kyri, the vessel brings a direct trace of the landscape into the room. The clay, texture and ash-based surface come together as a study in material and place.
A vase that holds flowers, while carrying the feeling of the ground around them.
岩 · Rock Collection
Earthy, tactile and grounded. The 岩 Rock collection draws from the rocky character of Yanwu Peak, its stone, texture and mineral presence.
