老丛宋种 - Lao Cong Song Zhong

Nine hundred years ago, a fleeing emperor drank wild tea on these mountains and named it Song, meaning the representation of the dynasty. The cultivar has carried that name ever since.

The grandfather made several trips down an impassable mountain to bring back these cultivars. Three Lao Xian Weng. Six Song Zhong. Eight Ba Xian. They were never known for high yields. Planting them meant a much longer wait. Only a small quantity is released each season. The rest continues to age.
