A larger cup, for tea enjoyed alone.

Designed as a larger gongfu tea cup, the Master Cup offers a little more room for the tea when brewing for yourself. Its generous proportions allow the aroma and colour of Phoenix Dancong to open within the cup, creating a more personal way of experiencing the tea.

The exterior is formed from dark London clay, hand-harvested by Kyri, giving the cup a deep, grounded presence. Inside, a smooth ash glaze creates a quiet contrast with the darker clay, bringing a softer surface into contact with the tea.

The glaze is made from a considered blend of wood ashes, including oak, walnut and longan ash from tea production. Its subtle green-toned character creates a natural contrast to the dark exterior, while allowing the colour of the tea to remain visible.

A cup for slowing down, when there is only tea and the person drinking it.

Muzuri Ware by Kyri Mouzouris

A ceramics studio founded by Kyri Mouzouris in Highgate. Drawing on architectural design and practical training in carpentry, blacksmithing and ceramics, Kyri creates functional ware through a material-led approach, exploring landscape, geological processes and the character of locally sourced materials.
