Lid Rest II - by Muzuri Ware

A small platform, for the lid between brews.

Designed to hold the lid of a teapot or gaiwan during brewing, the lid rest gives the vessel a place to rest without bringing water directly onto the tea table.

More sculptural in form, the piece begins with a broad square base before the body twists upwards, gradually narrowing into a smaller square platform. The changing geometry gives the form a sense of movement, while its stepped proportions create a quiet architectural presence within the tea setting.

Made from wild clay, hand-harvested by Kyri, the stoneware carries a direct trace of the landscape into the tea setting. The surface is dark and weathered, with areas of smooth glaze settling across the clay in irregular patches, revealing variations in depth, texture and tone.

A functional resting place, shaped as a small study in stone and movement.

岩 · Rock Collection

Earthy, tactile and grounded. The 岩 Rock collection draws from the rocky character of Yanwu Peak, its stone, texture and mineral presence.
