八仙 - Ba Xian

Eight immortals crossing the sea, each revealing divine powers. The old proverb gave this cultivar its name. In 1898, a farmer grafted eight cuttings from a mother tree. Each survived. Each grew differently. Each made tea of the same extraordinary quality. Like the immortals of Taoist legend, no two alike, all remarkable.

Ba Xian is the slowest tea on the mountain. Late to bud, late to pick, never generous with yield. Every year, it is the last harvest of spring. The tea that closes the mountain.
