Aroma Cup Series II - Painted Orchids
Painted Orchids Aroma Cup - by Tokocha Studio A vessel for fragrance, and for drinking.
Inspired by the traditional aroma cup, its elongated form gathers the fragrance of Phoenix Dancong, floral, honeyed and mineral, before each sip.
Thrown entirely on the wheel, the smooth stoneware form is finished with a white glaze and hand-painted with blue orchids, inspired by 草兰香 · Orchid Meadow, one of our Phoenix Dancongs. The flowers echo the delicate orchid character of the tea, turning its fragrance into a quiet visual language.
The blue-and-white palette brings together the two cultural heritage background of the artist: the Chinese blue-and-white porcelain alongside the same language of Dutch Delftware. Reinterpreted through a contemporary tea vessel, the two meet around the same enduring language of clay, colour and craft.
Designed to be held directly to the lips, it brings the aromatic character of the tea closer to the drinker, extending the ritual from fragrance to taste.
雾 · Mist Collection
Refined, fluid and smooth. The 雾 Mist collection evokes the softer side of Yanwu Peak, where mountain meets mist.
Tokocha Studio by Fabienne Tjia
Ceramic artist exploring material, touch and ritual. For Yanwu, Fabienne translates traces of the mountain into vessels for tea, working through texture, form and the marks of the hand.
